THE BRIEF:
To production manage the event and provide the technical production crew for twenty-six shows and fifty artists.
DESCRIPTION:
Performance Studies International #12 was an international conference revolving around all aspects of the arts and their role in the realm of human rights. The conference was produced in collaboration with East End Collaborations and the Live Art Development Agency (UK).
The Conference took place in five venues located in and around Queen Mary's University of London. It consisted of morning plenaries and live performances within The People's Palace at the start of the day; lectures and open discussions with international artists and human rights practitioners during the middle of the day; and culminated in large scale performances by leading artists from Brazil, Palestine, Israel and Mexico in the evening.

Luiz Abreu (Brazilian dancer based in Salvador, Bahia and São Paulo), Chumpon Apisuk (solo artist and human rights worker from Bangkok), Fernando Arias (Video, performance, photography and installation artist from Colombia), Oreet Ashery (Live Art and digital media artit, Palestine/Israel), David A Bailey (photographer, writer, curator and lecturer), Bobby Baker (Performance artist and painter UK), Song Chang Song (Painter, actor, and director from Taiwan), Gustavo Ciríaco (Solo dancer-choreographer from Brazil), The Clod Ensemble (Female choir and performance artists UK), Reem Fadda (born in Kuwait, now the Director of the Palestinian Association for Contemporary Art), Coco Fusco (New York-based interdisciplinary artist and writer), Guillermo Gomez Peña (born and raised in Mexico City, his work, which includes performance art, video, audio, installations, poetry, journalism, and cultural theory, explores cross-cultural issues, immigration, the politics of language; described as "among the most significant of late-twentieth-century performance artists" www.pochanostra.com), Rabih Mroué (actor, director, and playwright from Beirut), Graeme Miller (theatre, maker, composer and artist).
